    This session discusses considerations in choosing, preparing, establishing, and maintaining a computer adaptive testing (CAT) system from multiple perspectives. These include a state’s plan and vision, technical considerations regarding content coverage and measurement precision in interim and summative assessments, and an experience of running a CAT program, followed by policy implications. Finally, how states can use CAT will be discussed.
