Biographical Sketch:
Valerie Threlfall, Vice President–YouthTruth Initiative, leads CEP's work developing tools to gather comparative feedback from beneficiaries of foundation programs. In this role, she leads the YouthTruth project, an initiative to gather comparative and actionable feedback from students about what is working and not working in high schools nationwide. In addition, Valerie leads CEP’s West Coast office. Prior to joining CEP in March 2008, Valerie worked as a nonprofit strategy consultant, serving organizations such as Global Giving, Partners in Health, and Monitor Institute. Prior to that, she was the Director of Commercial and Strategic Planning at a start-up biotechnology firm, Momenta Pharmaceuticals. Valerie’s nonprofit experience includes working at Opportunity Finance Network , a national association of community development financial institutions, where she published multiple papers on theory of change planning and how to create effective impact measurement systems. She holds a joint MBA and MPP from Northwestern’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management and Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, respectively. Valerie received her undergraduate degree in Economics and Public Policy from Swarthmore College.
