In an effort to take seriously the charge for states to “work together to build on lessons learned” (NGA Center & CCSSO, 2010, p. 5), the Mathematics State Collaborative on Assessment and Student Standards (SCASS) brought together state leaders interested in learning about not only the successes and challenges in different states around implementing the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics (CCSSM), but also ways to build a common lens to view the standards. Leaders from the states of Maine, Hawaii, and Idaho, will share how they used the Illustrative Mathematics Project to address different needs when implementing the standards.
