- Transitioning assessment systems
The first version of the Operational Best Practices for Statewide Large-Scale Assessment Programs (OBP) publication was released in 2010. This document was authored by a working group formed by the Association of Test Publishers (ATP), and the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO).
The impact of technology on assessment in the last three years has been undeniable. Therefore, a second volume, focused on online testing was necessary. The second volume of the Best Practices book is done and due to be released this summer. Volume II features several new chapters including: a checklist of issues for state testing directors, an updated chapter on security, and a new chapter on interoperability. This soon-to-be released volume is a must for all departments of education and all service providers.
This session will provide highlights of Volume II and allow participants to ask questions of the folks who have devoted the last two years on this project.
