A well-known adage is, “If you want to measure change, then don’t change the measure.”  However, sometimes it is not possible to keep the measure exactly the same.  Many states are anticipating making significant changes to their assessment systems, most in conjunction with adopting assessments aligned with the Common Core State Standards.  What can, should, and probably should not be done to measure growth when assessment systems change?
